Fabulous beanies and bootees hand knitted by Glennie using a mixture of yarns – pure wool, merino, alpaca & synthetic novelty yarns. Each item is unique!
I love knitting. My Mum taught me when I was 11 and apart from a couple of years when I was working crazy hours I've been knitting ever since. As well as knitting I adore our tortieshell cat Issie and of course my husband Eddie - not sure if that's the order they should be in !!! I love the colour and texture of wool - walking into a well stocked wool shop is just bliss. Please pop into my Felt shop (called glennieknits) and have a look!
I also love houses, polka dots, flowers, growing veges, babies, interior decorating, trees, kittens & cats, puppies & dogs, birds and alpacas and old buildings.
We live in a 2 bedroom cottage which was built in 1886 - not old by European standards but fairly old for New Zealand ...
Oh my goodness me, you just whip them up so quickly! That is one pretty cardigan! I hate sewing the ends in too, have you got any tips on sewing them in so they don't ever pop out?
Hi Nikki - thank you! I always try to knot the 2 ends right at the edge (just in case they do unravel at least there's a knot to stop them going any further - hopefully!),I always try to use the back of a purl stitch and then finally depending on the pattern, I usually weave in and out across rather than up and down. I leave enough of the end to do a good few stitches along the row rather than just 2 or 3 ...

Thanks Glennie, great advice, I shall use it the next time I have to stitch in the ends!
