Xmas wreath .....

Sunday, December 4, 2011

Last year our wreath got "weathered" so it was time for a new one. Our front door is very old (if it's our cottage's very first front door then it's 120 years plus!)so to pretty it up I've had a red lei wound around the doorknob all year. Rather than remove that I decided to tart it up and got Steph from Liberty Lane to make us a reindeer with a long ribbon to go over not just the door knob but the lei as well. I think it works just fine ...

Mr Glennie Knits thinks it's too small but Issie and I like it!

I'm a bit frustrated as I've hurt my hand and can't knit as quickly and furiously as I like to so my frustration is making it's way felt through the house where I have been moving cushions, re doing the mantlepiece etc. - again much to Mr GK's horror ...

Here's what a $4.99 bunch of gerberas, some griselinia from the garden and a $7 Warehouse vase (bargain!)looks like ....

Issie doesn't care what cushion is where as long as her mohair blankies stay where they are meant to be ...

P.S. she starred in the Four Legs Good blog on Stuff last Friday along with other cats and dogs in their "What you can still see me" column - no guesses as to what Issie was up to!

A very cute Christmassy touch - Men! Always wanting "more power"! (Insert too-man type grunts here...)
