Normally it looks like this
With the addition of love
A touch of Christmas has been added in - still a work in progress I think!
Issie's waiting for the first glimpse of Santa
Fabulous beanies and bootees hand knitted by Glennie using a mixture of yarns – pure wool, merino, alpaca & synthetic novelty yarns. Each item is unique!

As the rain over the past couple of weeks has dictated indoor activites I was forced to tidy a couple of cupboards - oh, and my button stash .......
This beautiful cerise/raspberry is fast becoming my favourite colour to knit with .....
And I found these gorgeous buttons that match in perfectly at Wild & Woolly in Devonport ...
Before my left hand decided to stop knitting properly I had started some little berets for newborn to 6 months. More "pouchy" and loose fitting than the beanies I usually knit they are really sweet .... but hard to photograph! I've popped them on top of a bowl and then up on the mantlepiece so you can see the buttons/little flowers. P.S. the raspberry coloured one does not go up in a pixie type peak like it appears to ! .....
The button on this one is a gorgeous raspberry/cerise and gold one that I found at WIld and Woolly in Devonport ...
Last year our wreath got "weathered" so it was time for a new one. Our front door is very old (if it's our cottage's very first front door then it's 120 years plus!)so to pretty it up I've had a red lei wound around the doorknob all year. Rather than remove that I decided to tart it up and got Steph from Liberty Lane to make us a reindeer with a long ribbon to go over not just the door knob but the lei as well. I think it works just fine ...
Mr Glennie Knits thinks it's too small but Issie and I like it!
I'm a bit frustrated as I've hurt my hand and can't knit as quickly and furiously as I like to so my frustration is making it's way felt through the house where I have been moving cushions, re doing the mantlepiece etc. - again much to Mr GK's horror ...
Here's what a $4.99 bunch of gerberas, some griselinia from the garden and a $7 Warehouse vase (bargain!)looks like ....
Issie doesn't care what cushion is where as long as her mohair blankies stay where they are meant to be ...
P.S. she starred in the Four Legs Good blog on Stuff last Friday along with other cats and dogs in their "What you can still see me" column - no guesses as to what Issie was up to!
Loving these little cream, pink, lilac and yellow buttons ....
If you look closely you'll see Issie who managed to drag herself away from her normal "mohair blankie on the bed weekend hangout" and ventured out into the garden!
Here's a slightly closer shot in case you missed her in the first one - I believe she may be contemplating life in general or perhaps where to toilet now that the garden has been planted out ....
Yes, they do come in yellow!! These trees are at Stafford Park in Northcote and have just started flowering.... That's the park just over the bridge on your left before the Birkenhead offramp.
I just love, love, love this time of year. The bottlebrush is flowering, the feijoa flowers are starting, the apple is about to blossom and our next door neightbours crab apple is covered in pink flowers and red leaves - divine
In between planting our summer veges and general couch potatoing I did manage to get a little bit of knitting done ...
Issie managed to crawl out from under the mohair blanklet for at least 10 mins ....
A vege garden plot all ready to be planted (bit late this year due to being out of action for the last 5 weekends - a mixture of markets and 3 weeks of bronchitis!) And a fine forecast for the whole weekend - yeahy ........
Issie's preparing for another long summer ...
Due to a nasty, nasty bronchial infection I have felt less than inspired and didn't/couldn't even pick my needles and wool up for days which is just so not like me ...
And when I did my brain was befuddled with steroids and antibiotics so all I could manage was little bootees... but aren't they just adorable? !!!
